Knox Key Boxes

KNOX brand key box requirements for commercial and residential installations within the City of Georgetown jurisdictional areas are as follows:

• A KNOX application shall be obtained from Fire Inspections, 300-1 Industrial Ave.
• Please coordinate with Fire Inspections for the applicable key box, padlock, FDC plug or key over-ride switch needed for the project.
• When purchasing key boxes, only single key entry KNOX boxes shall be purchased.
• Payment shall accompany your application submission to KNOX. No payments shall be made to the City.
• Shipping of the KNOX box shall be to the purchaser, not the City.
• Once received, the installer shall coordinate with Fire Inspections for an acceptable installation location. Call 512 930-2542 or 512 930-8453 for scheduling.
• Installation shall comply with the manufacturers specifications.
• After installation is complete, contact Fire Inspections for installation of master keys and securing of the KNOX box door.
